Research says if you have a migraine, you fall more often than your counterparts. A study was conducted over 210 women aged between 18 to 55 years. Out of 105 migraine patients who participated in the study, 35 patients had a migraine with aura, 35 patients had a migraine without aura, and 35 patients had a chronic migraine.
The migraine patients who participated in the study expressed their concerns related to falling or the fear of falling in the following situations:
Physiotherapy reduces the number of falls in migraine patients
The fear of falling may restrict their physical activities which in turn hampers their quality of life, may give rise to disability, depressive symptoms, and invite lifestyle diseases due to a lack of exercise.
The good news is physical therapy can help migraine patients reduce the number of falls as well as the fear of falling according to the medical research.
